         <description>We are delighted to unveil the names of the 58 productions that will compete for this year's coveted Panda Awards.

It was another bumper year for the competition with 446 entries from 45 countries, with the new 'Best Short Film' category proving particularly popular.

The 2010 Panda Awards will be presented at a gala awards ceremony held during the Festival week where 650 leading industry figures will gather together to celebrate and applaud the winning films.</description>

         <description>There's good news for those of you who missed the deadline for entering the Panda Awards: Wildscreen has formally extended the film entry deadline until Friday 9 April.

Wildlife and environmental films from more than 40 countries have already been entered including from nations without an established tradition of wildlife filmmaking, such as Angola, Taiwan and Puerto Rico.</description>

         <description>The Wildscreen Festival is back, searching for the world's best wildlife and environmental films. Entries for the Festival's prestigious Panda Awards, dubbed the green OSCARS, will be welcomed from Monday 25 January until Friday 26 March.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In 2008, the Festival attracted 440 films from 43 countries: 62 productions were selected for viewing by the Final Jury and 22 prizes were awarded in fields as diverse as animal behaviour to campaigning, editing to newcomer. It is the place to celebrate success in the wildlife filmmaking industry, find out about the latest developments as well as buy and sell films.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Festival hosts a packed programme of screenings, debates, keynote lectures, workshops, masterclasses and networking events.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The centre point of the programme will be the glittering Panda Awards ceremony when the winners of the film competition are announced.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We will raise the curtain on our 2010 Festival in January, with the launch of the website and our call for film entries.</description>
