Wildscreen Outreach is a touring programme of award-winning film screenings and masterclasses to reach, engage and inspire new audiences. As well as local, regional and national initiatives; developing countries, where pressure on the environment is most critical, are a key priority.
The latest Outreach programme was to India and Sri Lanka in February 2011. Delivered in partnership and with the support of the British Council, India, leading wildlife and environmental filmmakers provided a programme of inspirational events in six cities, together with a touring programme of screenings of the Wildscreen Festival's latest award-winning films. To find out more please see our press release section.
Previous programmes have included Wildscreen Mexico in December 2009, further programmes in India in February 2007 and 2009, and Wildscreen China, which was delivered in five cities in December 2007. We are currently working on plans to develop further events in South America, Africa and Asia.
In the UK, film screenings and discussions are held in businesses, schools, community centres, prisons and hospitals – and in particular target hard to reach, excluded audiences.
